The wireless technology allows the viewer to watch the film on the big screen, then glance at the device for subtitles when necessary. The device was available, they told him, and the film was equipped with closed-captioning in English. The French Language Charter does not regulate the language of publicly screened films, nor does it require that films be screened in French or with French subtitles. The English captioning should not be denied to deaf customers if the English version of the movie is allowed to hearing customers, they argue.
