It seems like the only time we are not divided is when there is a disaster — and then we are managing by crisis, which is never optimal. CDC provisional data showed 49,369 suicide deaths in 2022 — a single-year record — following small decreases in 2019 and 2020. We don't need another attack on the Capitol.
