Srinagar, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and other popular destinations in the Kashmir Valley have enough qualities to attract travellers from all parts of the world. According to a report by the Economic Times, 14 new places have been earmarked to be developed into tourist destinations. Understanding this trend, the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to develop new destinations within the state and thus attract more tourists to these places. According to the report, they would also be given monetary assistance in order to to redevelop their mud hutments into guest lodges.
