Comelec takes down 126 illegal campaign posters in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has removed 126 illegally posted campaign materials in Bacolod City in Negros Occidental. Of the 125 campaign materials, 58 were for senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, former special assistant to the President, according to a Comelec report. ADVERTISEMENTFrom Feb. 13 to 16, the Comelec also removed 50 campaign materials of another administration candidate, former Bureau of Corrections chief Ronald “Bato” de la Rosa. Two campaign materials were for Rafael Alunan and 10 were for three party-list groups — five for Angkla, four for Abang Lingkod, and one for PBA1. Most of the illegally posted posters were on trees and electrical posts outside the common poster areas, while others were oversized materials within private property.
