Share TweetBy Leslie Ann AquinoThe Coalition of Associations of Senior Citizens in the Philippines (Senior Citizens) has called on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to recognize the legal officers of the party-list and accredit its official legitimate nominees. “COMELEC should recognize the official act of our party-list’s official and legal board of trustees and proceed to accredit the official legitimate nominees named in the board resolution,” Senior Citizens party-list President Godofredo Villar-Arquiza said. He said the party-list’s board of trustees issued a new resolution on May 6, 2019 naming its official legitimate nominees. Last year, Arquiza, Francisco Datol, and Milagros Magsaysay all claimed to be the president of Senior Citizens, and, thus, submitted their respective list of nominees for Senior Citizens for the May 2019 party-list race.
