Well known British actor and comedian Eddie Izzard will reopen Toronto’s CAA Theatre with two shows next weekend. Izzard, who uses the pronouns she and her, will perform “Eddie Izzard The Remix: 1988-2018,” a collection of highlights from her 30-year comedy career, and “Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations,” a live performance of the literary classic, on Aug. 7 and 8. All profits made by Izzard will be donated to Indspire, a national charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people. “It is an honour and a pleasure to have one of the world’s leading performing artists reopen the CAA Theatre, which has been closed since March 14, 2020,” theatre owner David Mirvish said in a news release. “Great Expectations” will be performed Aug. 7 and 8 at 3 p.m., and “Great Expectations” both days at 8 p.m.
