She died on Christmas Day at the age of 53.Palmater's wife Denise shared the news on Instagram, writing, "I have few words. Candy passed away today at home suddenly." She wrote on Instagram , "I am suffering from a rare condition called EGPA (eosinophilic granulomatosis with poliangitis)." She also hosted The Candy Palmater Show on CBC Radio and was a regular on CBC's Definitely Not the Opera.She was also an actor who appeared on Trailer Park Boys.
