When the NHL announced a year ago that St. Louis would host the 2020 All-Star weekend, it seemed like a consolation prize to the city for having a bad team. The hottest teams entering the All-Star break were the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets, each with a six-game winning streak. Anze Kopitar, the Kings’ lone All-Star representative, has found slivers of hope amid frequent frustration. “We’re trying to turn this thing around,” Kopitar said of the Kings, who are in last place in the West. Votes were cast by a panel of general managers, NHL hockey operations staff, NHL.com writers, and on-air talent from NBC, Sportsnet and TVA.
