COMMERCE CITY, Colorado (AP) " Colorado's Kevin Doyle scored twice to lead the Rapids over San Jose 2-1 on Thursday, taking the MLS overall lead and eliminatiing the Earthquakes from playoff contention. Colorado won its third in a row to surpass Dallas in the standings. Doyle opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a diving header to finish Marc Burch's cross. San Jose talisman Chris Wondolowski equalized with a penalty in the 57th. It was the Rapids' first victory over San Jose since 2011.
