MEXICO CITY—Investment-management firm Colony Capital Inc. said its newly acquired business in Latin America seeks to invest $5 billion in the region in coming years, much of it in Mexico. Los Angeles-based Colony Capital in April closed the acquisition of troubled Dubai-based Abraaj Group’s private-equity platform in Latin America, renaming it Colony Latam Partners while keeping the firm’s senior management team.
