BusinessShares at the Colombo stock market on Wednesday edged lower on uncertainty and worries over the state of emergency imposed in Sri Lanka on Tuesday, analysts said. The All Share Price Index was down by 29.60 points to close at 6,503.86 while the S&P Index fell by 29.56 points to close at 3,681.26. Turnover slid to Rs. 371 million, far below the normal average. Sri Lanka declared a state of emergency after a number of attacks against mosques and Muslim-owned businesses with a curfew extended during the past three days in the central district of Kandy.
