The girl was carried off from her home at the Abirnagar area near the district town around 11:30pm on Saturday, said police. The victim attends a local college and took her HSC examinations this year, Inspector Ansarul Karim said. The victim’s father has been admitted to Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital for his wounds while her mother received first aid. The family told bdnews24.com that a neighour's son, construction worker Helal Uddin, had been harassing their daughter for a long time. Police are working to rescue the girl, Inspector Ansarul said.
