more-inAdilabad Collector D. Divya on Friday suspended Adilabad Agriculture Market Committee selection grade Secretary A. Adellu and supervisor Syed Azad Ali as suspects in the red gram purchase scam which had surfaced in February. The Collector also recommended suitable action against Adilabad District Manager of MARKFED G. Nageshwar for his suspected role in the scam. Officials had seized a huge quantity of red gram from godowns in a raid in February. There were discrepancies in the statements given by these officials during an inquiry which necessitated their suspension. It was alleged that red gram of inferior quality was purchased at throwaway price from Maharashtra and sold to TS government.
