Colleagues battle it out over $42m lottery winJim Rice The syndicate won $42 million in the Mother's Day drawAn Australian factory worker is taking a colleague to court in a dispute over A$40 million (NZ$42.9m) scooped in a workplace lottery syndicate. The long-standing syndicate ended in January, he told the court, and King had bought a ticket in an unsuccessful draw. He said from time to time, the first defendant asked members to pay A$50 to the syndicate so he could buy appropriate tickets in various lottery draws. Brendon King is seeking an injunction to have his alleged share of the winnings - amounting to A$2.7 million - set aside until the case can be resolved. But Michael Lee SC, representing the registered ticket holder, said that King's case was without merit.
