Eric Reid, left, and Colin Kaepernick have settled their collusion grievances against the NFL and teams. A separate collusion grievance by Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid, formerly Kaepernick’s teammate with the San Francisco 49ers who protested alongside him, also was resolved. Outside observers frequently pointed over the last two seasons to the quality of other quarterbacks being signed by NFL teams, while Kaepernick remained unsigned, contending that Kaepernick was being blackballed because of his protests. He protested alongside Kaepernick during the 2016 season, while with the 49ers, and has continued those protests since then.
