CARSON, California (AP) " Los Angeles' Ashley Cole scored the late equalizer as the Galaxy came from 2-0 down in the closing stages to salvage a 2-2 home draw against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday. Portland overcame an early red card to beat Sporting Kansas City 3-0. Diego Chara was shown a red card in the 12th minute for elbowing Sporting midfielder Benny Feilhaber in the face. Seattle's Dempsey had his second career MLS hat trick to lead Seattle back from an early 1-0 deficit to a 3-1 victory. The Red Bulls went out to a 2-0 lead at Los Angeles through second-half goals from Gonzalo Veron and Sean Davis and looked to have done enough as the clock ticked over into the 80th minute.
