Wintry conditions have returned for parts of the South Island, with snow falling, power outages and road closures. However, the power was back on in parts of Glenorchy, the Gibbston Valley and Millbrook. Roads affected by snow and flooingThe New Zealand Transport Agency says motorists should take extreme care as a number of snow and flooded road warnings were in place in the lower South Island. SH6 from Queenstown to Cromwell and Haast to Wanaka had snow warnings area-wide. Heavy rain in regionsHeavy rain warnings were issued last night for northern Fiordland, southern Westland, and the headwaters of the Otago lakes and rivers.
