The city police have initiated steps to make busy junctions in the city roads pedestrian-friendly. “Of the 54 signals in the city we are planning to make 18 signals easily usable by pedestrians in the first phase,” Deputy Commissioner for Traffic S. Saravanan said. The six other signals are at Big Bazaar Road, Mettupalayam Road, Brookefields Mall and at Gandhipuram. Signals with times for pedestrians will be erected at all these junctions.
