The former municipal prosecutor – holding the position from January 2012 to July 2016 – was fired by his employer five years ago. (…) I am convinced that my departure from the city was not linked only to a simple parking ticket,” Ortona said. At his trial in July 2016, Ortona attacked the city’s municipal bylaws to contest his tickets. “Regardless of my case, contesting a parking ticket is no reason to fire someone,” he said.
