Coconino County Public Works has brought on a new deputy director and county engineer. Across northern Arizona, the Public Works office maintains approximately 1,000 miles of roads. Going forward Auker will be overseeing engineering design, transportation and traffic planning in addition to guiding the future of a sustainable transportation capital plan. Christopher Tressler, the Public Works director and county engineer, commented on Auker’s past experience and the skills he is bringing to the department. According to Coconino County’s statement, Auker has been working with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for the last 22 years.
