KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's earnings from the export of cocoa in the Jan-June period has exceeded RM2.7 billion this year, said Cocoa Board's chairman Datuk Dr Marcus Makin Mojigoh. It has passed the halfway mark of the total exports of cocoa throughout 2015, when the nation recorded RM5 billion in exports to countries like the United States, China, Japan, Egypt, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. "The year end should see the total 2016 export figure to exceed last year's figures," he said. He was speaking to the media at the launch of Malaysia Cocoa and Chocolate Day 2016 with the theme, 'Cocoa - more than words', here today. The three-day cocoa exhibition and exposition being held in MidValley Megamall shopping centre ends on Sunday.
