Coca-Cola issued a recall of nearly 2,000 cases of 12-packs, including Diet Coke, Sprite and Orange Fanta distributed across southern U.S. states due to a "potential foreign material" in the 12-ounce aluminum cans, according to a Food and Drug Administration notice. The recall made headlines Thursday even though it was initiated at the beginning of November. Sprite cans with a best by date of June 29, 2024 make up the bulk of the recall, with more than 1,500 cases being subject to it. Additionally, Coca-Cola is recalling 14 cases of Fanta Orange with a best by date of June 29, 2024, and 417 cases of Diet Coke with a best by date of January 29, 2024. The FDA notice does not state what type of "potential foreign material" may be in the cans.
