KOTA KINABALU: Some 10,000 members of coastal communities in the west coast of Sabah have been asked to help in searching for the remaining five missing victims of the Jan 28 catamaran mishap off Pulau Mengalum. Speaking to reporters at the daily briefing at the Sabah MMEA headquarters here, he said 12 vessels and an aircraft are currently carrying out their search for the missing five. On Jan 28, a catamaran boat carrying 28 Chinese tourists and three crew members sank while on its way to Pulau Mengalum. Two crewmembers were rescued near Pulau Tiga, while 23 tourists were found in Semarang waters the following day. The five remaining missing were a child, a woman, and three men, including another crew member.
