KiwiRail acting chief operations officer Henare Clarke said the Coastal Pacific train, travelling from Picton to Christchurch, was involved in an "incident with a person" on the Styx River bridge in Redwood, about 8pm on Sunday. Clarke said there were 189 passengers on board and the train was delayed for about 75 minutes.
