Vice Admiral Joel Garcia, Coast Guard commandant, encouraged on Thursday natural-born Filipino citizens who are physically and mentally fit and with good moral character to join the Coast Guard either as an officer or an enlisted personnel. The Coast Guard said examinations will be conducted on November 30, December 7, and December 14 in identified Coast Guard Districts across the country. Former PCG Commandant Admiral Elson Hermogino said that the Coast Guard aims to populate its workforce with 36,000 personnel, including officers, non-officers, and civilian employees in three years time.
