Reports said that the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) had prevented people from returning to the Island for their safety. The Batangas Provincial Police set up blockades in San Nicolas, Agoncillo, and Talisay towns to prevent residents and other people from entering the areas due to the hazardous ash fall. “We appeal to the local residents not to return, and they should also understand that we are doing this for their safety,” said Col. Edwin Quilates, director of the Batangas Provincial Police.
