Colleen Frances Pobar, marching coach; b May 3, 1941, d February 1, 2019If Colleen Pobar was a rugby coach with an equivalent record of success, she would be a legend, yet she remained virtually unknown outside marching. Her father was coach of Glengarry Robins Marching Team, and Colleen joined the troupe at age 11. SUPPLIED Colleen Pobar and her Lochiel Marching Drill TeamThe team marched for six seasons before Pobar took a short-lived break. After two seasons off, she became coach of the Lochiel Senior Marching Team, at the same time marching in the No 8 position. If you did not do the work or put in the practice, you didn't last long on Pobar's team.
