Sarrah Jayne and Ngarie Jones from Tākaka Co-housing Neighbourhood at the site of the new neighbourhood on Meihana St. In a country where property is at a premium, co-housing is the way of the future, says local Sarrah Jayne. The Golden Bay local and colleague Ngarie Jones are two of the people behind a co-housing neighbourhood that will be built on Meihana St in Tākaka. Interest in the Tākaka Co-housing Neighbourhood had been strong, with 20 of the 34 available units already sold, Jayne said. They had worked closely with the Tākaka community to get the project off the ground, and people had been supportive, Jayne said.
