Paul McGinley is hopeful that the smooth re-opening of club golf in the Republic of Ireland will mean the green light for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open at Mount Juliet in July. “Golf opening up in Ireland with no problems will be a big help,” McGinley said. “It was good to see members back and a few lost balls in the Irish Open rough already. Everything about the Irish Open sounds really positive and we don’t really have any fears now. “The build is due to start in mid-to-late May and if everything is confirmed, I think it could be huge if the Irish Open is the first big event with fans.
