It was 21 years ago when Jason Rutledge latched onto Southland club rugby's prized possession for the first time. If successful it will be Woodlands’ ninth title since Rutledge joined the club and the excitement that surrounds being part of a Galbraith Shield final hasn't worn off. Star and Woodlands have been the powerhouses of Southland club rugby through the past couple of decades. The 2021 Galbraith Shield final will kick off at 2.30pm at Rugby Park and is one of many finals fixtures throughout Southland on Saturday. Wyndham and Edendale will clash in the Ack Soper Shield final at Wyndham and Mataura and Collegiate will play off for the Gerald Dermody Shield in Mataura.
