In a decision that’s either politically shrewd or uncomfortably crass – or both – the Hillary Clinton campaign reportedly has bought up Weather Channel airtime in Florida markets in the path of Hurricane Matthew. Politico reports that the Clinton campaign will spend $63,000 on Weather Channel ads in Florida over a five-day stretch starting Thursday, just as the storm nears the coast. "The Weather Channel represented less than one percent of that spending. Asked on “Fox & Friends” Thursday about the ad buy, Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence declined to criticize the rival campaign.
