Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton said Wednesday during her first formal press conference this year that her Republican rival Donald Trump's praise of Russian President Vladimir Putin is "unpatriotic" and "scary." Clinton held the press conference in White Plains, New York, before boarding her jet to continue her campaign travels, and she harshly criticized Trump for his latest comments about Putin, specifically his claim that the Russian president is a much better leader than U.S. President Barack Obama. Trump's remarks are "unpatriotic" and "insulting," Clinton said, going on to wonder out loud what former Republican President Ronald Reagan would say about a GOP presidential candidate who "attacks" the country's generals and praises the Russian leader. She added that such a remark by Trump "suggests that he will let Putin do whatever Putin wants to do and then make excuses for him." In a communique after the NBC forum, Trump's campaign said that Clinton's remarks at the press conference were "the desperate attacks of a flailing campaign sinking in the polls."
