The Heads of State and Government of the Sahel Climate Commission have commended the pioneering role of King Mohammed VI and his vision for a “strong and resilient” Africa. Morocco “has always worked for ambitious South-South cooperation to guarantee the harmonious and sustainable development of Africa,” the communiqué added. King Mohammed VI announced at the opening of the first Summit Conference of the Climate Commission for the Sahel that Morocco will finance the feasibility studies to finalize the Climate Investment Plan for the Sahel region. The Climate Commission for the Sahel Region can count on the Climate Change Competence Center of Morocco (4C Maroc), particularly in terms of capacity building for its members, the monarch pointed out in his message. The center, set up in 2014, is a national and continental platform of excellence for the development and dissemination of knowledge and best practices on climate change.
