Regarding Holman W. Jenkins’s “Finally, Wildfire Sanity?” (Business World, Sept. 12): The precursor to the decimation wreaked by West Coast wildfires isn’t global warming primarily but reckless housing development in areas that never should have been developed in the first place, and it’s a failure of local government that this wasn’t stopped. I agree with Mr. Jenkins’s view that California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s reference to facing climate change head on is wrong-headed.
