One boy was killed and five were wounded Friday night in a shooting on a commercial street in southeast Cleveland, and the police were looking for an unknown number of suspects who “fired shots and took off running,” said Chief Calvin Williams. The six victims ranged in age from 12 to 16, and the chief said he did not know the age of the boy who was killed. The other five required hospital treatment, Chief Williams said. The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m., and Chief Williams and Mayor Frank Jackson said late Friday that they needed the public’s help to track the suspects. “The only thing we have right now is that kids crossed paths and shots were fired,” the chief said.
