Clerics have called on Kenyans residing in areas targeted by the oral cholera vaccine to come out and be vaccinated. The Ministry of Health is starting a vaccination drive from Thursday (today) targeting eight counties mapped as high risk. “Cholera kills and since we are lucky to get vaccines Kenyans should come out and take them,” the National Chairman of the Interreligious Council of Kenya Joseph Mutie said. “That the ministry is targeting some counties doesn’t mean cholera cannot spread to others. The first case of cholera was reported in Kiambu in October last year.
