JOHOR BARU: The Government wants state authorities to clear beggars from the streets of the city. "I hope the authorities in Johor will beef up their operations to keep out beggars from your streets," Rohani said at a press conference here Sunday. Johor Women, Family and Community Development committee chairman Asiah Ariff said apart from locals, foreigners also came to Johor Baru to beg. She said most of them were from neighbouring countries who entered Malaysia as tourists using social visit passes. "These foreign beggars will go back to their countries before their social visit passes expire."
