Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday that clarity could soon be on the horizon. “There is word tonight we are getting closer to clarification on Dustin Byfuglien’s status for this season,” Friedman wrote in a tweet. It’s unknown how Byfuglien winning his grievance at some point would affect the cap hit retroactively. He showed up a week prior to training camp opening and skated informally with some teammates but failed to show for the first day of camp. He’s been rehabbing it ever since but has yet to begin skating, according to reports.
