SIBU: A civil servant, who believed that he had found his true love, sent RM60,000 as dowry to the woman for their marriage, only to realise later that he got scammed. "In November 2017, the victim got to know of the woman, who identified herself as Aishah on Facebook. Supt Mustafa said the woman then broached the question of marriage to him, in which he agreed to marry her. After transferring a total of RM60,000 in several transactions, the victim then realised that he had been cheated, after attempts to contact her failed. Most love scam victims had not even met the other party, but had easily sent them money," he added.
