Citizens set to get Covid jabs next month at vaccination centers in 18 districts


Dr Thomas Tsang Ho-fai, a member of the government's vaccination program task force said on a radio program this morning that authorities are planning to set up vaccination centers at 18 districts in the city and start the vaccinations early next month. The former CHP controller said the first batch of 1 million doses of vaccine produced by Sinovac, a mainland pharmaceutical company, will arrive in Hong Kong by the beginning of next month. “Authorities are planning to set up at least one vaccination center at each district, each center will be allocated with sufficient medical staff, first aid equipment and observation beds. He added that authorities have started to coordinate with the private medical sector to discuss details of having private doctors help with the vaccination. Henry Yeung Chiu-fat, president of the Hong Kong Doctors Union believes that private doctors in Hong Kong are likely to give a hand in the vaccination program.
