In a nutshell, retired professional tennis player Riggs had publicly boasted that the female tennis game was inferior to a man’s and he could beat any top woman player. Her life’s work was fittingly recognized by the USTA (the United States Tennis Association) in 2006 when it renamed the Flushing, New York complex in which the U.S. Open is held the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. A hero to many, many women in this world, I could name no more fitting person to commemorate with a dedicated watch than Billie Jean King and thank Citizen for doing so with a new Eco-Drive model.
