Cinepolis India to invest Rs 400 crores to open 160 more screens by 2017


NEW DELHI: Mexican multiplex chain Cinepolis said it would invest more than Rs 400 crores to open 160 new screens in the country, taking the total tally of screens to 400. The company started it's operation in India in 2009 at Amritsar and currently operates 217 screens under the brand names Cinepolis, Cinepolis VIP and Fun Cinemas. At present the the company operates 240 screens in 32 Indian cities. The company globally operates more than 537 multiplexes with over 4,550 screens in 13 countries. "On an average we are investing close to Rs 2.5 crore on every screen that we open.
