Cincinnati moved to a position for the College Football Playoffs on Tuesday night, rising to fourth place behind Georgia, Ohio State University, and Alabama. In the last seven years of the College Football Playoff, no team other than the Power Five Conference has been selected for the semifinals. Until this season, the so-called Group of Five conference team had never been ranked 7th by the CFP Selection Committee. Oklahoma State University (10-1) in 7th place is the highest ranked big 12 team. Big 12 rivals Baylor (8th) and Oklahoma (10th) finish the top 10 with Mississippi in between.
