Churches in Kisii’s Nyaribari Chache subcounty were Friday ordered to shut for two weeks as the county monitors Covid-19 infections in the region. County secretary Patrick Lumumba said the spiralling infections are a result of the recent Madaraka Day celebrations in the neighbouring Kisumu county. Nyaribari Chache alone has registered more than 140 infections in the last one month. We have also had consultations with the Ministry of Health, which advised so,” Tirimba said in a statement. She said they have registered a number of deaths related to the disease in the last few weeks.
