A married 39-year-old teacher who admitted to having an affair with one of his students has been jailed for two years. Daniel Zampatti pleaded guilty to 10 counts of indecent act with a child under his care or supervision over the affair while he was working at Christian College Geelong in 2016. The ex-music teacher, then 35, unexpectedly kissed the 17-year-old student which led to an affair lasting several months. Judge Tinney sentenced Zampatti to two years and three months jail, but set a non-parole period of 14 months. Prosecutor Joanne Piggot told the court the affair involved Zampatti phoning or texting the girl an 'extremely' high amount and regular touching and kissing often on school grounds.
