Community representatives from local schools, community groups, and Christchurch MP Ruth Dyson brought a deputation before the Hagley/Ferrymead Community Board in July. He said concerned residents were hoping for a bylaw about the proximity fast food outlets to schools, because at the moment the market was regulating itself. Davids said fast food outlets were more likely to target areas like Linwood and Hornby. "It's not an issue having the odd fast food joint in the area.
