When a Christchurch cat owner planted lilies in her garden three years ago, she had no idea it would result in the death of her pets. The pair had been showered in specks of lily pollen as they slept under the shade of a dwarf maple tree where the flower grew nearby. The owner had no idea lilies were poisonous to pets when they came in to bloom for the first time this year. Sadly, Lily died on January 3rd, and Zac, who was 1kg heavier died nine days later.
