ARLINGTON – Rangers manager Chris Woodward prefaced the explanation by saying he didn’t know the true answer for his team’s offensive struggles so far. “That perfect storm just makes it really hard to hit,” Woodward said on Friday. The storm, clearly, is something the team is still weathering – though there was some signs of optimism in the forecast. The Rangers, bottom-five in the league in all three slash categories, lost 7-1 in the series opener against the Boston Red Sox on Friday. With a fastball playing up, the Rangers hit the barrel often, Woodward said, but the angle was just too high.
