Chris Rushworth breaks Durham record as dad watches from car

Led by Chris Rushworth, who went clear of Graham Onions to set a county record for wickets, Durham’s pace attack was too potent for Worcestershire. Rushworth took four wickets to add to his five in the first innings to go to 536 first-class victims, inspiring his side to a win that puts them second in Group One behind Essex, with a game in hand. Rushworth was released by Durham as a 20-year-old in 2006. Two summers of club cricket for Sunderland followed before he was invited back for some second XI games in 2009 and given a championship debut in 2010 at Headingley. He failed to take a wicket as Yorkshire amassed 610, but has been a fixture in the side ever since.
