At 16 he joined the Royal Navy, where he was soon scouted by Portsmouth Football Club. He played for Swindon Town, Leeds United and Sheffield United, and went on to manage Bradford City and Stoke City. In 1998 he became a regular pundit for Sky Sports and has since presented the TV shows Ninja Warrior UK and Cash in the Attic. He left Sky Sports after being diagnosed with apraxia, a neurological condition, two years ago. Our house has a bit of land where we keep horses, sheep, chickens, cats and hedgehogs.
